I'm feeling better!!!

I went for a run before my kickbox class yesterday
my friend's timer and distance calculator ran out of battery but I think we ran 40mins, 7-10km

tired and panting but very good!

the kickbox class after that helped me burn more fats!
and I'm so happy that I can easily do the 3 sets of 12 push ups now
and all those crutches..woohhoooo...

I love being stronger!

been feeling groggy, giddy, blur the whole time
I even slurred ... don't even know what I talked to my colleagues
I didnt enjoy the lunch with them because I couldn't hold myself up.. not myself the whole day
was it because I was too tired or just not used to the new "me"

I was so worried ... lucky I can talk to 1 last person
and lucky his words gave me more clarity and strength and knowledge

yesterday, I went to my bro's house myself after my appointment.
my parents came after attending a Malay wedding

Alicia was so cute! she was messing up the toys that her daddy had kept because he was cleaning up the room. so I'd to distract her from her toys by talking non stop to her...gosh!

when it was lunch time, I told her that I need to eat and asked her to sit beside me, she agreed! such a considerate girl!
but she couldn't sit still... I had to hold her with 1 hand and eat with 1 hand.
finally I managed to keep her still by giving her baby biscuits

after lunch, its back to laptop and dvd with her.
but suddenly I heard farting noise and Alicia scratching her backside and strong smell... oh no! Alicia had just poo poo...
I'd to pass her back to her parents and while changing her diapers, she fell asleep almost immediately on bed.
good! its time for her afternoon nap!
and I can do my work and rest abit now!

when she woke up, her grandparents had also arrived.
after all the playing and dinner and handling Jayven
its time for us to leave and Alicia had to go to bed soon
but she become moody... so I asked if Gu gu can go home.. she waved her hand answering no
so I asked if Ye ye can go home.. she waved her hand too
then I asked if Nai nai can go home.. she ignored me
haha... I am so happy! she didn't want us to leave!
so I test her again... Can Di di go home? She nodded her head vigorously...
haha... jealous baby!

anyhow, we had to go...sob...
I'm missing her already!
can only see her on next Sun!

Once upon a time in Singapore , there lived a happy couple, Mr. & Mrs. Ng with their 3 lovely daughters; Elaine, Ena & Ella.

The 3 daughters were brought up in a prim-and-proper way and when they reached 20, they were still virgins.

Years passed, and it was time to get them married.

So, the parents found them the most suitable ' leng zai' (handsome guys).

They got married and were preparing to set-off on their honeymoon.

As 'concerned' (more like 'kay-poh') parents, Mr.& Mrs. Ng were curious about their daughters' first-night experience.

So, before the daughters went on their respective honeymoons, Mrs. Ng told them......'Your father and I want to know about your 1st night encounters and whether you are satisfied. Write a letter to us, but as not to raise your husbands' curiosity... you all must use a code-name to describe your ! experiences' .

So, the excited daughters were off. A week passed.

Mr. & Mrs. Ng got the first letter. It was from Elaine.

They opened the letter and found the word STANDARD CHARTERED. They immediately took the newspaper and looked for the Standard Chartered advertisement. 'Ah! here it is!', exclaimed Mr. Ng. The motto for Standard Chartered was... 'BIG, STRONG & FRIENDLY'
Mr & Mrs. Ng were happy.

A week later, they got another letter. This time it was from Ena. The content was simple. 'NESCAFE'. So, again they took the newspaper and looked for the Nescafe ad. 'Ah! here it is. 'NESCAFE: PLEASURE TILL THE LAST DROP'. Mr. & Mrs. Ng beamed with joy.

Another week passed. A month passed. And another. There was still no letter from Ella.

The Ngs became worried.

Finally, the letter came. It was scribbled and could hardly be read, but Mrs.! Ng managed to figure it out. The code-name was 'SINGAPORE AIRLINES'. Why Singapore Airlines? Mr.Ng rushed to the nearest store and got a newspaper. He flipped the pages frantically. 'Ah! Here it is!' Mrs. Ng grabbed the page and read aloud. Before she could finish ...THUMP!!!. ..she fell off her chair. The motto was ...

'7 TIMES A WEEK. 4 TO 6 TIMES A DAY. NON-STOP'.

even since Jayven arrived, we had been spending every weekend with my brother and his family... especially Alicia

not bad for us.. we really enjoyed being with her though taking care of her while her parents were busy with Jayven was very very tiring for my family

we always ended up sleeping the whole of next day

Alicia is so cute! she now know how to call me!
Gu Gu first then suddenly she popped out Da Gu Gu!
I was thrilled!

she is a fast learner too... everything we do she will copy and whatever we teach her.
she loves watching tv commercial and learned action like applying lotion on face...
and we still cant figure out where she learned to do belly dancing
and she kick ball very well! I wonder if we need to buy her soccer boots next time...
etc etc etc...
gosh! everytime I will tell Joey what Alicia had do... until she gets bored with me
haha... cant help la... I'm the proud gu gu mah...

Jayven arrived on 28 Oct 2009

He is a healthy and active boy, weighing 3.3kg

after staying in the hospital for 3 days, Jayven and mummy went home on Sat

it was a "crazy" day!

we were trying to figure out what was Jayven's needs and to take care of Alicia unusual behaviour.

gosh... taking care of children really needs super power

sis and I really tired out when we got home

Wish Alicia and Jayven will be strong, healthy, happy and loving!

end of the month will be the temple confinement again
didnt realise that its coming so soon
wonder how will it goes this time...
things are different already, feelings are different too
"to do" or "not to do" keeps bothering me, maybe this is my test, a hurdle to go through

anyway... immediately after the confinement will be Jayven's full month celebration.
back from temple, no rest...
wish we are physically strong enough to go through every event.
GIVE ME POWER! haha...

damn nervous now... this is my first time running 21km

playing pet society has been my routine!

feed, bath my Eppy everyday
even dressing it up is exciting! sometimes she is elegant, sometimes she is sweet, sometimes she is cute, sometimes she is weird, and at times she is just so boy... maybe that's me, different image of me.

and I decorate the house like how I wish my house will be
lots of open space.. gardens, relax area with bbq, open concept kitchen, open concept balcony
I'm still doing more... hopefully it will look more and more like my dream house
so proud of my house!

I've 92 friends now.. sometimes the visiting bores me but this is one of the ways to earn more money

I discovered that the pets can bath and brush themselves!
but I wouldn't be rewarded with points or money... so I guess I still have to do for them.

Finally I'm feeling better!

I realised I didn't have food poisoning but some virus attack
it was in the news ... quite alot of people got it.
its airborne.. easily infected

Thursday was the start of my bad ending of this week!
I was down with food poisoning!

I vomited every 2 hrs after I got home from temple...
Then at 3am, I started to have diarrhoea every 2 hrs too...

like what Mel said, I'm simply tasted my meals all over again..
I tasted my dinner, home cooked rice with veg then lunch, a penang laksa from eating place.
grooosssssssssssssssssssssss...............
and I guess the cause of my sickness was the penang laksa!

I didn't get to sleep... my tummy cramp all the time, I was suffering from fever, and yet had to drag my feet to vomit or diarrhoea. I thought of give up crawling back to bed and just plant myself in the toilet
at times, I didn't even know which one I had to do first! vomit and diarrhoea came together
sob!

in the morning, I didn't have any energy left to go doctor myself.
everyone has gone to work.. left only Pepe
I can only wait till my dad got back in the noon to go with me

but luckily my colleague who stays next block called.
she offered to send me by car... phew! didn't need to use my leftover energy...
I had not been eating too

cant imagine suffering all these by myself...
how to go doctor myself?
how to cook porridge myself?
I really was very weak from all the vomiting and diarrhoea and no food.

phew! I am blessed to have great family and friends to help me!

THE LESSON FROM A DONKEY!

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly..
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up
over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.
The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up..
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up!
Shake it off and take a step up.

I'm still trying to catch up with the intense, fast series of movements, exercising my reflex and memory.
gosh! and I feel so good that I'm training my legs, arms, waist muscles!

Thursday - morning
I went for a run with my colleagues in CCK.
my running route:
from my home - meet 1 colleague at Verde crescent - meet next colleague at Yew Tee MRT - canal at end of CCK crescent - Lot 1
estimate total distance 5-7km
we ended at Lot 1 and had breakfast at the coffeeshop

Saturday - temple training
I think the running lasted 45mins - 1hr

my past writings and photos were too big for the blogskin I chose.

so I change back to the previous blogskin but the color to blue
and realised now my favourite isn't pink ... or I'm just tired of pink aldy?
actually find blue in my blog is quite refreshing

2nd lunar month of May

In Lunar calendar, every second or third year has an intercalary month (闰月).

This year it was a repeat of May, and so we are celebrating the birthday of Lu Shi Yuan Xian Chang (卢士元仙长) 2 times this year.

The 2nd celebration was more grand, more majestic!

we were honoured to have 三清，玉皇上帝，and many more to join us in the temple
though cant see them, we had hints that tell us they were there.

I wasn't feeling too well those days to help, only be able to make it at praying time.
lucky there were more younger and stronger people to handle those hectic schedules
and I believe co-operative from a big group of people really makes a difference.
in conclusion, this celebration was a successful one!

the next intercalary month of May (闰五月) to celebrate Lu Shi Yuan Xian Chang (卢士元仙长) 2 times will 19 years later.
shorter than the previous one which was 30+ years ago.

I'll be in my 50+ ..gosh!

Parents not home - no more

Hooray! they are finally back!!!!

Time flies man! 3 weeks gone so fast and they are back from their long holiday.

I fetch them at the airport, checked on the website that they would be arriving at Terminal 2 but when I got there I couldnt find their flight!!!!
then I realised it was changed to Terminal 3... gosh! I had to run to the skytrain then to where they were waiting....
erms... now I finally believe Changi Airport is damn big lor! almost breathless when I found them.
Lucky I was not driving, if not I would be driving from carpark to carpark.
Parents told me the annoucement on board changed from T3 then T2 then finally T3.
never imagine SQ or Changi do such thing, cant decide where to land.

After lunch at airport, we took a cab home.
I was eager to see what they'd collected during their trip, I immediately went through their baggage... leaving Pepe to attack them. Pepe missed them so much! kept asking them to carry him and also kissing them madly

There were pressies for me, Lydia, Alicia and Alicia's brother!
They were so excited on their shopping and sightseeing adventures and kept telling me their stories until they were tired and went to take a nap.

Pepe finally can go back to sleep with his beloved daddy in their bed... haha...
no more disturbances from Pepe at night for me and my sis... hooray!

Parents not home - Day 5 & 6

Parents were in Suzhou & Hangzhou 2 days 1 night trip.
They got back to Joey's place feeling very tired, they said too much walking...
haha... what to do? China so big

They ended the trip with arguement with the super rude driver.
The tour agency promised to drop them off at a place near home but they were dropped somewhere else. When they questioned the driver, the driver shouted loudly at them...
sigh... what do you expect?
some of the people there still has a quite a way to civilisation, no customer service.

Dad not feeling well too, could be the rain.
told Joey to give them immunizen, phytopath and bio C

for us here? same lor...
1) Pepe pee around the place
2) no dinner
3) do housework

lazy to go marketing so I just cook whatever in the fridge
still edible la... fill up the stomach only... just not very exciting

Yawn.... woke up and start preparing lunch
at 12pm, asked Lydia to call Willy for their timing
Willy said Jo is craving for wanton noodle near their place so will buy some over too.
so I decided to just make the salad and grill the chicken wings, sotong and mushrooms, fry garlic prawns

it was around 2pm when they reached... wow! very hungry!
but it was a wonderful lunch
Alicia was walking around within our sight while we eat
she knows how to walk by herself now.... talking to herself, playing on her own
and she kept saying PaPa, MaMa, NaiNai, Duck Duck, Dog Dog....

hahha....

I realised Alicia is a cheeky girl!
she will let out a laugh when u asked her to say something she doesn't know how to yet.
I asked her to say "GuGu" and she laughed.
I asked her to say "Please" before her biscuit and she just laughed.
then we just gave in because she was so cute!

Alicia had a bath just before they left. They were heading to Jo cousin's place and scare it will be late when got home. so while Willy was bathing Alicia, Lydia and I just stood around to watch.
haha... all 4 pairs of eyes on her.
Alicia was getting tired... but she remained cheerful, laughed at times when we played with her.
such a darling girl!

Parents not home - Day 3

Lydia and I went to Lot1
we bought our movie tickets for Terminator then to NTUC to buy food
Willy, Jo and Alicia coming on Sunday.
we had decided to cook spaghetti and salad for lunch

went home to put down stuff, wash clothes, clean up the house
then to the movie

when I saw the advertisement for Transformer, I was shocked!
suddenly realised I forgotten what am I watching now.
I was confused and thought I bought tickets for Transformer... haha
anyway, after the movie, I regreted watching and wish I had chosen a comedy instead.

then we went to check out Watsons and bought some makeup and makeup tools
haha... vain right? I have quite a few eye shadows already but I bought some more.

then we cook wanton noodles for dinner

Joey brought my parents to QiPu wholesale centre for shopping
I think she bought alot of hair accessories and shoes
Then they went to The Bund （上海滩) but the weather was not good for pictures and there were renovation at the Peace Hotel.

Later in the evening, Joey took them to their usual massage place near home. They had body massage and foot massage!
I heard they enjoyed the massage...
see! told them so!
the only thing I like is the cheap massage there...

Parents not home - Day 2

Pepe waited for my parents again... but I think he started to realise and decide to sleep when we did.
but he followed me to my bed and left my sis alone in my parents room... haha... Pepe abandoned my sis

I had to go office early in the morning... so I had to wake up earlier than usual to feed Pepe and clear his toilet area.

came home to see lots of pee and poo in the kitchen area... Pepe did his revenged again.

It was raining hail storm in Shanghai, lucky my parents decided to stay home

They went to the market in the morning, bought alot of stuff for the dinner tonight.

They had invited Joey's friends mostly Singaporeans and my cousin who is working in Shanghai for the Singaporean home cooked food.

some of the friends couldnt make it, my cousin too...

but I heard whoever were there enjoyed the food so much ... lucky for them!

Parents not home - Day 1

my parents went dating to China
so its home alone for me, sis and pepe!

on the first night, Pepe refused to sleep... he was waiting for them to come home
he kept disturbed my sis to open the room door for him so that he could wait at the main door
poor him...
in the morning, he refused to eat too
I had to coax him... brought him out to see his best friend before he decided to eat his first meal of the day.

I worked from home that day just to keep him company
He was so tired from no sleep the whole night, he slept like a baby in the day.
He flipped, slept on his back, so tired that his mouth wide open
even when I disturbed him, he had no energy to growl at me

no dinner for us... so we eat out

lucky Joey... she had her nice home cooked dinner instead.
Mom had prepared her favourite yong tau fu for her

Alicia called nai nai (奶奶) when Willy called her the day before
my mom was so THRILLED!
Alicia only know how to say PaPa, MaMa and Duck Duck, Dog Dog... and now NaiNai

so my mom asked me to buy 4D for her on Wed... 1699 and 9916 because we thought Alicia is 16 months old and she called nai nai
but!!!!
the result was 9619 and 0099
AIYA!!!! all screamed like mad, even Willy and Jo
Willy said my girl gave 真字咧! why never strike!
ya... and he too never buy the number

There are many things happened in that environment that I do not understand why.

to me it is all wrong, unethical, not morally correct but why are these people allowed to continue in their doings and its growing in power?

maybe He is looking and He knows
and maybe He is giving them reminders to behave before the real punishment
and maybe things happen in a way that I do not understand now, I do not have the vision and level to see it yet

I think for now, I will have to learn to let it go and be focus on what I want to do
instead of what are they doing

I saw something shocking just now, the truth had just slapped me hard ...

that truth on "Power of Money"
I just saw how money had gained this person a seat in the committee when this person had never served in this committee, no previous experience, no actual contribution.
What did this person do to deserve this high position?
someone else who are more senior, contributed more, sacrifice more are denied

laughing to myself now... at the same time crying in the heart...

I can't imagine in this environment, such filthy act exist

what is the cost of actual action, time, effort?
its just some cheap, worthless thing...
no matter how much you spend working in here, your worth is only determine by how much cash you can give

I feel so disappointed... hurt... sad...

My sister and I went to her company's family day carnival in March.

It was at Sentosa... great fun! if only my parents, Willy, Jo & Alicia went with us too

all kinds of Food, Drinks, games were there for us

manicure too! lucky we managed to get a slot in the long queue

delicious BBQ dinner and movie at night

we went touring a bit too.. this is the bird and small animal area where they also do some performance and tricks. It was nice touring Sentosa again, there were so many changes!

I have heard of this place,seen it on TV but it was my first time in this park.
I was so attracted to the beauty of the nature!

Singapore do not have much nature spots that you can just rest and relax, engage and be in nature, take pictures, and look at the flowers and trees...

I'm eager to visit Hort park again and stroll through the ridges

Congratulations to Boon Teng!

Finally he found his lovely bride!

Boon Teng is one of the 师兄 in temple. Everyone was eager to get him a bride and finally after lots of efforts, he got married on 30 April 2009!

My parents and I were his matchmakers and wedding organisers.

But I was so stress and nervous the day before the big day... gosh! lucky our tasks have finally accomplished!

Everything went according as plan, even the sky rained only when we were indoor.

The wedding dinner was great too, never see Boon Teng so happy before.

initially we were so afraid that the friends from temple will keep toasting to him but instead it was the other way round, we had to stop him from drinking too much.

Boon Teng's brothers and himself kept thanking my parents and I for helping on the wedding... wow! paisay lei... we didn't do much, the rest helped too!

Boon Teng was so lucky! He had his family's help in preparing the traditional things, bridal car from Yifu, Zhicong to drive the car, Qingquan & Yuwei as brothers, good photographers from ShiJie, liquor sponsors and I'm sure our teachers' blessings too! and many many more... everyone was anxious and eager to help to make this wedding a happy one!

Copying Ideas

If you do not have anything that has made you succeed in the past, you must still avoid new ideas. Do things that won for others.

For example, you want a career helping people and making a decent income. You write down the careers of everyone you know. You realize your uncle Jay, who is a dentist, helps a lot of people and makes an excellent income. You take your uncle to lunch and ask how he became a successful dentist.

As another example, you want a successful marriage and family. You find who has been happily married for a long time and has a successful family. You learn all you can about what helped them succeed and then copy their ideas.

If you want to succeed in any kind of job or business, interview the people who are succeeding. Find out what has won for them. Use those ideas as they are proven, not untried as yet. Luckily, most successful people enjoy talking about their success secrets and do not worry about competition.

For example, you get a job selling insurance. You find out who has the best sales and buy each of them dinner during your first week on the job. You take notes of everything they did right. You then copy their actions as closely as possible. Some of these top sales people even help you out with some prospects. Within a month, you are making a good income.

If you want a big source of income, you do not copy the actions of people who are broke. You copy the actions of high-income producers, especially if you agree with their methods and purposes.

As a final example, you decide to start a new software company. Before you start, you find out who owns successful software companies and read everything you can about them. You meet with any of the owners or managers who will talk to you about their success. Even though they are very busy, they feel flattered. They may have learned from other experts as well and want to help new entrepreneurs, so they give you several hours of time. You learn exactly what they did and copy it. Your new company prospers.

Congrats to those artists who were nominated and to those who received the awards!

I feel especially emotional when some of the artists talked about being less popular or even had non popular news surround them but they still hard work for their passion and beliefs.
now they are finally recognised! ... some after a long long while.

I see 2 groups of artists... Popular & Hardwork
Popular or well like makes their effort more recognisable? usually receive awards faster?

and the hardworking or the talented artists but less popular took a longer time to get recognised or when one decide to recognise their effort or when they just got lucky 1 day.

I feel this is as true as the world outside
anywhere ... in your workplace, in your family, in your religious group, in your school

how to be popular?
some just have it in their blood, everyone just love them.
some just know how to fake, some love them too.

why do I feel so emotional?
because I am looking at some popular people recently... I see how they fake good relationship with their supporter and when these supporter aren't with them, they talk nasty things about them.
but ironically, these supporter love them unconditionally, be their willing servant and always view them as the best.

haha... so do you choose to be popular or hardworking?

ok, I do say some good people are popular too.
and I view them as my heroes and idols, I aspire to be them.

gusty wind in singapore

anyone experienced the strong wind yesterday night?

I was working at my desk when I heard empty plastic containers and bottles in my kitchen all dropped violently onto the floor! and there was noise from the strong wind too!

I ran and found the kitchen in a mess and Pepe's toilet too! poo and newspaper all over the place!
and I'd a hard time closing up the windows...
after that the STRONG wind was still hitting hard on the windows

didn't know what else to do, I screamed for my mom.

but .... both of us just stood there exclaiming in shock! and at the back of our head was hoping the glass panels can withstand the strong wind.

what if it didn't? oh my! I couldn't imagine what would happened.

luckily the wind slow down as fast as it came...

but it wasn't over for us, we need to pack up the kitchen and clean up the house
because the wind had brought big sand particles into the house.

I heard from the news this morning that it was gusty wind from the Sumatra
and a lot of trees and branches had fallen onto the road... causing many traffic jams this morning too

George was tired of being broke.

Every day was a struggle. "How will I pay my bills? I'm going deeper into debt. I can't afford to buy anything."

So George constantly worked on new ways to make money. "If I could invent a new telephone, all my money problems would be over." "Maybe I could sell funny hats on the Internet." "If I found some investors, I could open a new underwater restaurant."

George had tried a few ideas, such as manufacturing a razor blade that never got dull, building the world's largest tree swing and a selling lamps made of salt. All his new ventures had failed. To survive, he had to work at McDonald's as an assistant manager.

Like most people, George felt he should solve his money problems with new ideas. This idea is almost always wrong.

The Best Income Ideas Lie in the Past

"Affluence Attainment, consists of: ... Doing the things that won, not new things untried as yet."

You enjoy affluence, not from new ideas, but from things that have already worked.

George decides to try out this approach. He asks himself, "What has made me money in the past?" He lists the following:

According to new research, produce in the U.S. not only tastes worse than it did in your grandparents' days, but also contains fewer nutrients. In fact, the average vegetable found in today's supermarket is anywhere from 5 percent to 40 percent lower in minerals such as magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc than those harvested just 50 years ago.

Today's vegetables are larger, but do not contain more nutrients. Jumbo-sized produce actually contains more "dry matter" than anything else, which dilutes mineral concentrations.

An additional problem is the "genetic dilution effect," in which selective breeding to increase crop yield has led to declines in protein, amino acids, and minerals. Breeders select for high yield, effectively selecting mostly for high carbohydrate content.

And finally, as a result of the growing rise of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, modern crops are being harvested faster than ever before, meaning that produce has less time to absorb nutrients either from synthesis or the soil.

So I started punching my calculator... to my horror! currently, my monthly spending on telephone line (subscription and call charges) and home broadband is around $58!

now I'm using
Singtel 1mbps home broadband = $30 per month

caller-id = $4 ($12 divide by 3)
local call charge = around $15
Total = $58

What is recession?

This Story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the roadside. He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers. He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio. His eyes were weak, so he never watched television. But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs.

He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales. His sales and profit went up. He ordered more a more raw material and buns and use to sale more. He recruited few more supporting staff to serve more customers. He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove.

As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from College, joined his father.
Then something strange happened. The son asked, "Dad, aren't you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?" The father replied, "No, but tell me about it." The son said, "The international situation is terrible. The domestic situation is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times."

The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watched TV. He ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly. So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his raw material order and buns, took down the colourful signboard, removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic. He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs. Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hotdog stand. And his sales started coming down rapidly, same is the profit. The father said to his son, "Son, you were right". "We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time."

Moral of The Story:
It's all in your MIND!
And we actually FUEL this recession much more than we think

someone said to me: "do this then he will get the promotion"
so weird!!!
why am I doing something so that someone else will get promoted/rewarded?

Suddenly, the upset I had years back when I was an employee came back so clearly!
I was promoted because of my good work performance... but not before someone senior got promoted first. She was promoted because it was "not right" that she wasn't promoted when I did since she was in the company before me.
Technically, she got promoted because of my good performance... not hers.
I'd no choice... because I was an employee. My pay raise, my promotion depends on someone else... called my boss (manager)

so why do I now as a business owner still do something so that my senior get promoted/rewarded?

but it does hit me!
now I understand why am I in this business
I want to let others have their choice
when I'm talking to people, I've always forgot to ask what do they want... really! what do they want?
with no limits, no restriction, all the money and time they want... what do they really really want?

What do I really really want?
I am a business owner, so I do what I want. I do what I want to achieve... my own goals and dreams not someone's dreams.

I was doing some spring cleaning for my blog, on drafts that I didn't published and this title caught my attention:

it was drafted on 4 April 2008
obviously I can't remember what had happened that made me wanted to write this but ironically this incident happen to me again recently.

A was talking to B and past some comments freely on C.
it was just innocent words but B treated it seriously and wanted C to change the work system to accommodate to A.

Suddenly, there were upsets, anger, crying, biased, accusations etc...

just some innocent comments, A may said
but A never imagine that C's effort, selfless hardwork all these years were all denied.
C's heart was broken, very disappointed, feeling betrayed by the people she cared for all these while.
and C could do nothing

C is someone dear to me... and I can't do anything to help too

my learning:
take responsibility! on my actions, on my words
to prevent innocent people got hurt

we went to Mandai to pray to her on Thursday
we bought a lot of food... my cousins prepared some of her favourite dishes
we waited for a long time for her to enjoy the food... just like when she was around, she ate slowly, enjoying the food.

it was kinda amazing how she "said" no to everyone until Josephine asked if she was done with the food. I think she really wanna see her grandson and grand daughter in law again before we leave.
